Serving learners from
3 years old through 8th grade
This school year will present us with the opportunity to create an organized system of drop off and pick up for parents/guardians at CKS during the roundabout construction. Since the construction project on Locust Street is ongoing and ever changing we had to amend our previous pick up and drop off plan. Please find our newest plan below.
MORNING DROP OFF
Early Education ( Preschool, Bridge & Pre-K) students and siblings will be dropped off in the rear parking lot. Early Education parents should park in the rear lot and walk their child(ren) to the back door. All Early Education students and their siblings will enter through the rear door which will have faculty present. When driving in, cars need to enter the rear parking lot from the first Locust Street entrance and exit from the second to get back on to Locust Street headed to Shelburne Street. (see attached image)
Kindergarten through 8th grade students will be dropped off in the top parking lot (lot with the new playground). Parking will not be allowed for drop off as it will be a through traffic lane with cones. Faculty will be present to assist children out of the vehicles at drop off. For parents K-8 who wish to walk their child(ren) to the front door of the school you may park at Calahan Park and walk up Locust to the front doors.
AFTERNOON PICK UP
Early Education ( Preschool, Bridge & Pre-K) students and siblings will be picked up in the rear parking lot. Please park and pick up your child/children from their teachers near the rear door.
Kindergarten through 8th grade students will be picked up in the top parking lot (lot with the new playground). You may park in the upper lot for dismissal. K-8 parents will enter the top parking lot through Locust Street and exit up the driveway to Shelburne Street. We ask that parents of students in K-4 wait near the top of the stairs for your child. Children will only be dismissed once a teacher makes eye contact with a parent or guardian.
The front parking lot adjacent to the front door will be faculty only parking. This will allow for K-8 students to safely enter the front door at arrival and dismissal with no thru traffic.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate the ongoing construction of the roundabout together for the safety of our students.
