Christ the King School Immunization Policy
Parents must provide immunization records prior to the start of the school year. If a student’s immunization records do not meet the requirements established by the Vermont Department of Health, they may be temporarily admitted only after an immunization catch-up plan has been established with the student’s doctor and approved by the school nurse and CKS administration. If an established plan is not followed as agreed to, the student will be removed from CKS and will not be allowed to return until all immunization requirements are met. A second provisional admittance will not be offered. CKS does not accept blood titers in place of a full vaccinations series. Philosophical and religious exemptions are also not accepted. Per the Pontifical Academy for Life and the National Catholic Bioethics Center, there are no justifications in Catholic teaching for refusing vaccinations. Therefore only medical exemptions documented by a licensed MD or DO are accepted. A schedule of required vaccinations, as required by Vermont State Law is available from the office, school nurse, Vermont Department of Health, or your pediatrician.
