Catholic Charities operates four long term living care homes in Vermont (Derby Line, Burlington and two in Rutland). Residents have been confined to the facility for a couple weeks but today new guidelines went into place and residents now have to eat in their rooms by themselves and staff can no longer offer any community activities. They were already starting to go a little stir crazy and missing visits from their loved ones that can't come into the building but this will take it to a new level.
Here is how our Christ the King students could help. We don't want anyone to go buy anything but we would like the residents to get letters from students in the mail. Maybe the letters could include a picture they drew, easy large print crossword, word search, etc., printed from the internet. This is something they could open in their rooms to brighten their day. We have four homes and this is how we will divide this up:
